Job details: This project was completed in February 2018 for Hills Contractors Ltd, a well-established construction firm based in Walsall. Hills were contracted by EvoEnergy, a leading renewable energy company, to deliver work on a groundbreaking project at Trent Basin—Europe’s largest community battery energy storage facility. The storage unit incorporates advanced Tesla technology, underscoring the innovative nature of the development.

Our role in this project was to provide and install a JCW Absorbent Sound Enclosure specifically designed to mitigate noise pollution, as required by UK Building Regulations. This enclosure plays a crucial role in ensuring the battery energy storage system operates within permissible noise levels, thereby minimising disturbance to the surrounding community.

The enclosure was constructed with four absorbent panels, each standing at a height of 2.5 metres, offering robust sound attenuation. It also included an access gate to allow easy entry for maintenance teams, ensuring the structure remains practical for ongoing operational requirements.
