JCW Delivers Acoustic Solution To NHS Facility In Sheffield

Earlier in the year, JCW Acoustic Supplies worked as a sub-contractor on behalf of Burngreave Building Ltd, a family owned Sheffield-based company working for the NHS locally.

Our brief was to improve acoustic performance in 11 small consulting Rooms in the Michael Carlisle Centre, Nether Edge, Sheffield, a specialist ward catering for patients with acute mental illness.

The project was to supply and fit JCW Silent Board, an acoustic overlay improvement board for new and existing walls; the product is made of acoustic plasterboard laminated to an acoustic resilient layer.

It can be simply fitted directly to existing brick, block and stud walls and the plasterboard surface, once the board is installed, is ready for immediate decoration.

Because the consulting room sizes were small it was calculated that the necessary acoustic improvement of approximately 6dB could be successfully achieved by treating just one wall in each room with JCW Silent Board.
