Maiden Lane – JCW Cradle Levelling System
Background
Sisk has been chosen by Camden Council for a £50m contract to build 265 new homes and commercial space at Maiden Lane near King’s Cross Station. Originally built between 1979 to 1982, Camden council is making its debut as a house builder, launching new homes for sale on the open market under its own name. The move, a symbolic break with the past, is likely to be embraced by other councils struggling with housing shortages.
Construction will start on site later this month and is due for completion in March 2016.
An industrial site on the corner of the estate was demolished during the summer to make way for the new homes. Ten new blocks will be built, including one 20-storey block, while the remaining will range between 3-7 storeys.

The Cradle Levelling System has been developed a quick and easy way to level cambered, stepped and uneven sub-floors so common in traditional construction. The unique interlocking cradle and riser combinations allow a vast range of void depths to be achieved. The result is much improved resistance to the transmission of impact and airborne sound.
