Location: Derbyshire.
Pure World Energy engaged us to assist with the design and installation of a bespoke acoustic enclosure for a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant at The Arc Leisure Centre in Derbyshire. The project was part of a larger initiative to provide energy-efficient solutions while ensuring noise mitigation in a public recreational space.
The critical nature of the project demanded precise planning and efficient execution within a tight deadline of just five days, ensuring completion before Christmas 2024.
The project required the design and installation of a 4m-high acoustic enclosure tailored to house the CHP plant. The enclosure was constructed using JCW Absorbent Sound Screen, known for its high-performance acoustic properties. The dimensions of the structure were:
Bolton Landscapes carried out the installation, completing the work within a week using a skilled team of three.

The primary challenge was the compressed timeline. With only five days available for on-site work, the team had to coordinate the logistics, delivery, and installation seamlessly to meet the pre-Christmas deadline. Additionally, designing the enclosure to meet the specific acoustic requirements of a leisure environment required careful planning and expertise.
The project was successfully completed within the allocated time frame. The acoustic enclosure now ensures that the CHP plant operates efficiently while minimising noise disruption to the leisure centre and its visitors. This project highlights our commitment to delivering tailored acoustic solutions for the leisure, hotels, and recreation sector, even under the most challenging conditions.
